Shower Steamers
Some People Prefer Showers
Used in the shower, these steamers help provide the aromatherapy benefits that bath bombs provide in the bath. But some people just prefer showers, and shouldn’t be deprived of the spa experience! Shower steamers are 2.5 & 3.5 ounces and come in all 8 SecondSightSundries scents -Shower steamers are strong! So they need to be kept away from children & pets, and definitely can not be used in the bath to soak in, so do not! Average is 2 showers for 2.5 ounce steamer and 3-4 showers for 3.5 ounce steamer.
To Use: Remove from package and place steamer on shower floor or shelf that is not under the direct spray of the shower, but can get wet enough to activate the fizzing action. You may need to experiment a bit to get the right location in your shower to adjust it just right for your shower experience.
Ingredients:
Sodium Bicarbonate: Baking soda is the main ingredient and is used disperse and incorporate all other ingredients into the final shower steamer “puck”.
Citric Acid: Citric acid is used because when it is combined with baking soda, and water is added, it produces an energetic fizzing action. The menthol, essential, and fragrance oil vapors are released into the fizz and carried up into the air where you can then experience all the benefits.
Cornstarch: This ingredient is included for two reasons; it binds the ingredients together to hold their shape in a hard long lasting puck, and it slows down the fizzing action of the citric acid with baking soda, so the scent-release is more controlled and can last the entire shower- maybe even two or three, depending upon how speedy your shower is.
Menthol crystals: An important ingredient, because the menthol helps to intensify the scent throw from the essential and fragrance oils in each steamer, and it also provides mind- and sinus-clearing aromatherapy benefits.
Essential & Fragrance Oils: Can boost mood & confidence and enhance self-esteem, not to mention provide all the great aromatherapy benefits that the essential oils specific to each scent offer. Combining fragrance and essential oils with menthol helps give a better scent throw, which means they smell stronger and can last longer.
Pigment: Water soluble dyes are used to tint each shower steamer, mainly for identification purposes, and because they rinse cleanly down the drain.
